Memorial Day

Kaylee's Dimple
Since Kaylee was born late in the day, it was going to be hard for most of Lou's family to come up and visit. My parents offered to have everyone over to their house on Saturday so they could meet little Ms Kaylee in a relaxed atmosphere, and so Lou and I wouldn't have to stress over cleaning the house and cooking. Everyone came up except Uncle Glenn and Isabel (she had a cough). It was a very nice afternoon.

Day 2

Kaylee was up ALOT during the night. Since I could not get out of bed, Lou had to try to walk around with her alot because she just was not content.  He'd get her to sleep and she'd sleep for maybe an hour then be up again. So between changing diapers, me feeding her and him walking with her we did not get much sleep. At one point around 5 or 6 Lou just brought our little swaddled baby into his bed (I mean cot with lots of horrible springs) and snuggled with her and she fell asleep for a few hours.
We had no new visitors today. Mom and dad brought Kelsey back to see us and to hang out. You can see from the pictures below she is one Happy, Proud Big Sister. She was so excited to get the chance to hold the baby "by herself". We still have not chosen or talked about a name. Kelsey goes back and forth between liking Samanfa and Victoria. We planned to talk about it tonight, but again after Lou got back from putting Kelsey to bed and going back to our place to take care of the dogs, he got back around 10:30 and was exhausted. So we both just went to bed. I had written the names on the dry erase board in the room so we could see them all written out. One of the nurses commented that all three names were from different genres. We did eliminate one spelling of Kayleigh. Lou had wanted me to rank them, but I told him honestly I would be happy with any of them so he needed to rank them and tell me his rankings.

1st day visitors...

Dr. Dayton was so quick with the c-section that by the time I got a room, I was still very numb and couldn't feel/move my legs. But that didn't stop me from wanting to love on my girls. Before my parents returned with the girls, my good friend Julie stopped by on her way home from school. (unfortunately I do not have a picture) Then Gma/Gpa McDonald and Aunt Kellie came back and brought Kelsey to see me (and the baby). Kelsey came in carrying a rose in a cup from Gma/Gpa's neighbor. Kelsey came up in the bed with me and got to give her baby sister (no name yet) the gifts she had chosen for her. I made a lovey and a flannel blanket and I let Kelsey choose the fabrics for them. She was very excited to give them to baby. After that, Kelsey got her big sister presents...a big sister book and a Dora View Finder. This time at the hospital there were restrictions and only so many people could be checked in at a time. As my family was leaving, Lou's was arriving, so it worked out perfect. Gma Roselli came up with Aunt Christine and Uncle Gary. It was a good day, but a long day. Lou left me to go put Kelsey to bed and to let the dog's out and didn't get back until after 10. Needless too say we were both tired so names did not get discussed...there's always tomorrow. We have 2/3 of the name, we know her middle name is Brennan (my paternal grandmothers maiden name) and her last name is Roselli! In the running are Samantha, Victoria & Kaylee.

Baby Girl Roselli has arrived....

She was born at 12:51 on May 24, 2010. She was 7 lb 15 oz and 19 3/4 inches long. She has a FULL head of black hair and a nice set of lungs! In typical fashion, we did not have a name yet, BUT we had a list. Luckily this time we were more prepared and a nursing student who was observing took pictures for us. I was very nervous (as I knew I would be) When Lou was allowed to come in the OR, he held my hand and stroked my hair and told me all was going to be okay. With Kelsey they made him sit at first, but he got to watch the entire thing this time (no thank you). Dr. Dayton was very fast and our baby girl was out in no time. She was bigger than they thought she was going to be, as I had been measuring small the last 2 months. They brought her over to me twice while still in the OR...and I got to touch her and kiss her. These are things I didn't do with Kelsey because I didn't know what I was allowed to do and I was kinda out of it.

Here they are cutting the cord
Mom, Dad, & Kellie brought Kelsey to the hospital so she could see her new sister. She got to watch through the window as her baby sister got a bath and had all of her measurments taken. They then took her home for a nap, I didn't want her to see me until I was undrugged and up in my room.

The Weekend Befour...

(I know I spelled before wrong) The weekend (2 days actually) before we became a family of four, we took Kelsey to the beach. Our favorite beach, Bathtub Beach, was supposed to be re-opened. When we got their the parking lot was still closed off, so we parked a little further up the beach and just walked there...many other people obviously did the same thing. We knew with a newborn we would not be able to take Kelsey back to the beach for a while. She enjoyed herself walking with daddy, playing and digging in the sand, and sitting in the shallow water dropping shells and making them splash. I got a few comments from people on how nice it was to see a pregnant (very pregnant) woman who didn't care what other people thought and was wearing a bikini. I was only wearing one because heck I was having a baby in 2 days and really didn't care anymore! LOL However, no pictures of me were to be taken ;-P Afterwards we drove to some shaded picnic tables and had a picnic before heading to Gma/Gpa McDonald's house to see family. My Aunt Robin, Uncle Jeff, cousin Amanda and sister Cindy and her family were all there.

Maternity Photo Shoot

I sucked it up this time around and had a friend come take a family photo shoot at the end of my pregnancy. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, I schedued it for 2 weekends before our little one was to arrive. Here are some of my favorite shots.
